FedEx, UPS or USPS?
Now don’t let this post title fool you and if you take offense easily at the topic of sex, then read no further. There is no graphic nudity or text, but it may be something you’ve never thought about though it happens in most consentual relationships.
Tim (dh) and I have been having this discussion lately that has compared sex to the delivery service provided by the titled carriers. Yeah, one of those evenings on the porch with nothing else to discuss and there might have been drinking involved. AND we’ve been married almost 17 years.
First, lets talk about my opinion of the speed of delivery of each of the aforementioned. When ordering from FedEx I notice that there is almost no waiting and it arrives faster than with any of the other two. If UPS is involved in the delivering of the goods then it seems to take a bit longer. A couple days to several days longer. And if the US postal service is in charge of delivery it seems it never gets here or takes an unusual amount of time.
Next, you might be wondering how this all can be compared to sex. Well, let’s take for instance the time it takes to complete the act so that both parties have come to their successful outcomes: the delivery.
This is where the comparison began and discussion over which delivery service worked best for both parties.
Admittedly, there are times when a FedEx delivery is preferred only because of the lack of time. So speedy successful outcomes are preferred. Or maybe it so happens that I don’t happen to want delivery that day so if it could just be FedEx’d I’m just fine with that.
UPS seems to be the preferred delivery method for both parties in this case of conversation. You know it might take a bit longer, but sometimes the anticipation makes the delivery of goods more exciting.
Now, when it happens that delivery is by USPS I tend to get impatient because I’m done waiting for delivery since my outcome has come to fruition anyway.
This is where Tim proceeds to inform me that type of delivery service that we shall receive next when we venture to partake depends on how many deliveries I’ve been getting over the previous days and weeks. The more deliveries I get the slower the delivery time. Something about a back up? Or reserves…like on hold for delivery or something. Whatever!
So to sum it up, there has to be careful timing when ordering or the preferred method may not get utilized and one of the parties misses a delivery. However, since I am more of a spontaneous type it usually ends up with a UPS delivery and all is good with the world. Other times, when delivery is not what expected, I just go with the flow and wait for the next delivery of goods and shoot for a UPS delivery.

And yet there is no mention of the uniforms worn….?
And suffice to say, as long as the package is safely delivered, there should be no complaining on the receiving party.

I suppose I don’t take notice of any uniforms, but the brownish color (nice tan) of UPS still works best. And as for safely and no complaints…well I do like to get excited about what is being received. I mean, why else order it up?
Breathing down 16 years of wedded bliss — next week, thank you very much — and we have three kids who are 10, 7 and 5.
When a package is delivered it arrives via FedEx all the way. On rare occasions when we send them into the basement — so Mom and Dad can talk for a few minutes — it’s a UPS delivery. That’s nice. I wish the UPS man showed up more often than the Fed Ex man. But hell, when you absolutely, positively need it there overnight, FedEx will get the job done.

I hear ya girl! No kids left in this house so you would think UPS would show up more often, but ah well, we get delivered what is delivered.
I can’t remember the last time I had a package delivered. Lately I’ve been delivering them myself.
*sigh*

Oh Jen! I’m sorry. But are you still satisfied with the delivery? If so then all is good.
Jen you crack me up!

Ok, this is hysterical!!!! Fed Ex is quickest? As a marriage goes on, sometimes fedex is preferred. You know… the more you have been with someone, sometimes the longer it takes for a package to be delivered, the more annoying! ha ha!

Katherine, that is so true! Why it is sometimes a good thing.
I am going to say I take the delivery any way it wants to come as long as there is a delivery. I would say that I prefer UPS way of delivery not to fast and not to slow! Just right. I sound like Goldie Locks and the Three Bears story!
