Road Tripping with the 10 Year Old Girlie
Seven hours later, two movies (portable DVD player) and three times listening to Emily Osment we (me and my 10 year old grand-niece) arrived at my daughter-in-laws house. This was yesterday and so far it’s been dinner at Olive Garden, swimming in the pool, watching movies and getting to bed about midnight.
Today has been Ihop, a trip to the park and mani/pedi’s. Now the girls are making Yakisoba for a late lunch and I am taking a much needed break to type up this post. And rest I had better since we will be hitting the mall later, for sure.
Then it’s on the road again to head back home: 7 hours later, 2 movies and numerous times listening to Emily Osment. Better buy her a new CD at the mall later or one of us might night make it back!

No such thing as a bad road trip….

That is sooo true!
What fun! And I’ll take Emily over Hannah any day, even though they are best friends, at least on the show.

I don’t mind the songs…just the repetition. She’s gotta hear over and over and over…
I love road trips with my kids. We can’t have very long ones here in Israel, but even 2-3 hours is great for some pretty interesting and sometimes plain weird conversations. It’s an opportunity to interact and educate and I’m glad we don’t have a DVD player in the car! When they get too bored, there’s either music on the radio, or, if they’re good and for a limited time – games on the iPhone

Anne, as for the conversations, I agree with you. They can really get weird!
Your trip sounds enjoyable. Your bond as a family is very evident and I like to compliment you for that. And then, your grand-niece is quite pretty and charming.
Better Emily Osment than Mr. Justin Bieber.

When I suggested something by Bieber, she said, “ewwwwww! Hate him.”
